Comparison: 2014 Mercedes-Benz S550 vs. 2013 Audi A8L

Welcome to the first ever Driver's Seat post! Today we will be comparing the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S550 to the 2013 Audi A8L. These two large, German luxury sedans both start at around $95,000 and both have extremely comfortable cabins. They both go 0-60 in under 5 seconds and both have such a large, commanding presence. But which is better? That will be revealed very soon!

2. Audi A8L.

The Audi is definitely the quieter car of the two. Its styling is not as flashy as the Mercedes but still has a commanding presence on the road. The interior is more subdued and sports-car like than the S-Class's but is still very comfy. Personally, I prefer the Mercedes inside because it is almost like a Bentley. I would still take the Audi over say, a Lexus LS460L or a Hyundai Equus. I do like the 4.0 liter V8 more than the 4.6 liter V8 in the Mercedes. 0-60 takes an incredible 3.9 seconds and runs the quarter-mile in 14.7 seconds.

1. Mercedes-Benz S550

The Mercedes-Benz S550 is probably one of my favorite cars of all time. It has one of the biggest histories of any car on earth and has a reputation for being fast and luxurious. The new S-Class reminds me of the 1965 600 Grosser. Even though that isn't even an S-Class, it was the predecessor to the first ever S-Class and was one of the most remembered cars of all time. My favorite part of the car is by far the interior. It is just so elegant and futuristic, yet still reminding you of previous S-Classes. 0-60 happens in 4.9 seconds. Also, the new S-Class is the first car to have all-LED lighting. The headlights and taillights are all LED's and there are more than 300 LED's in the cabin.
